PHOTO GALLERY: The Civil War Comes to La Crescenta

Two local historical societies celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Civil War with a reenactment in Crescenta Valley Park on Saturday.

The Historical Society of the Crescenta Valley and The Little Landers Historical Society presented "From War to Reconciliation--Moving On and Moving West" on Saturday, May 21,  in .

The celebration of the sesquicentennial--or 150th anniversary--of the Civil War included storytelling about veterans who chose to settle in the Crescenta Valley and their contributions to our local history.

Authentic Civil War artifacts were on display, there was a re-creation of a Civil War battlefield encampment as well as reenactors from the Company E 2nd Vermont Infantry, who were on hand to share educational historical information.
