Betsy Ferguson, Neighbor

Betsy Ferguson, owner of The Home Artisan, is an award-winning home stager and member of the Real Estate Staging Association (RESA). An Accredited Staging Professional® since 2006, her work has appeared in the Real Estate Staging Association’s “Consumer’s Guide to Real Estate Staging”, the Los Angeles Times, and in a recent Forbes article on home staging. Betsy was named as one of RESA’s 2017 and 2015 Top 10 Occupied Home Stagers in the United States and RESA’s Top 10 Redesigners for 2015 and 2016 for United States and Canada. She also received the 2016 “Best of Houzz Service” designation.

Although she enjoys all types of staging and redesigns, her specialty is helping to transform former rentals or trust sale homes. Since these types of properties often need updating, she gets great satisfaction in recommending and implementing simple ideas to cosmetically update the homes, making them as attractive as possible without the seller having to spend a great deal of money.

Betsy’s unique attention to detail and sensitivity to clients’ needs was cultivated by over 25 years experience as an event planner and project management professional. As Public Outreach Specialist and Special Projects Coordinator for the Commercial Use of Space Department at NASA-Ames Research Center, she executed seminars and workshops, created exhibits, coordinated trade shows and worked with local city government on special projects. As President and CEO of a local special event company for 10 years, she was responsible for its growth into one of the premier event planning companies in Southern California.

Betsy is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and currently lives with her family in Sparr Heights, a small community near Montrose and La Crescenta. The mother of two active boys, Betsy volunteers at Fremont Elementary School, where she served on the PTA Executive Board for seven years, including two as PTA President. As a former actress and singer, she performed on stages throughout California and is still a member of the Screen Actors Guild. She enjoys theater, exploring new restaurants, good wine, thought-provoking movies, and spending time with her children.
