The Crescenta Valley Station is part of the larger Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. This station provides law…More enforcement for La Canada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Montrose, Lake View Terrace and parts of the Angeles National Forest. Captain David Silversparre oversees this station.
Detective services, police reports and traffic complaints and questions are handled here.
Crescenta Valley Station has a large volunteer program, where citizens of the community can take part in "non-hazardous duties," such as assisting officers on patrol, school watch, arson watch, detective support, neighborhood watch, business watch, radar trailers, front desk staffing, clergy council and "caring arms" (transporting children to the station until a relative or agency can take custody of them.)
Crescenta Valley Station is also home to one of the largest Explorer Programs in the country. The Explorer Program trains youth considering a career in law enforcement. Deputy Explorers are able to ride along with Deputies on patrol and are trained to assist officers with "non-hazardous" duties such as crime reports, crowd control, finger printing and office phones.
