@ keslie I have been unshamed by a master grammar yenta. Almost didn't hurt at all. Take care.

Dan -- your attempts at jocularity were successful. My first comment was meant to be somewhat…Read More tongue-in-cheek. And in my second comment I even mock my self -- bottom line, my intent was to be a bit of a grammar yenta! My intention wasn't to "guffaw", "har har" or "shame" anyone -- just give a bit of a nudge. :)

I'm no defender of poor grammar in any way, but I never see the point of people who like to guffaw…Read More at the occasional mistakes of those who've written about fires, shootings, windstorms, burned bodies, elections or any number of other things.
I agree with Leslie that chat and texting have made for a much cruder verbal identity among our youth to the point where they won't be able to get a job interview or assemble a decent, legible resume. But publicly saying "har, har, let me flex my grammar muscle and shame others" just seems like a poor, bitter and unpleasant way to get your message across and carries the same negative energy as something like "LOL, look @ u, u r a looser!" You have a problem with what a writer did? E-mail him or her. Don't abuse your power of commenting just to put a spotlight on the fact that you found a few mistakes.
I'm not looking for a fight, Leslie, but there are better ways to make a point, right?

I found NORMAN GRABOWSKI in the diary I kept for many years. I entered something every day. On a…Read More Saturday in 1983, I entered that I had enjoyred listening to Rockin' John Henry on his Saturday Bandstand show. He had NORMAN GRABOWSkI in the studio, and when I found out he was from So. Cal and had delivered fresh eggs to ROE ZEE market. I really payed attention. He was a genious hot rod builder who invented and built the first "T-Bucket" which was featured on 77 Sunset Strip> He was also a master wood carver and his hand carved wooden skull shifter knobs became top priority for hot rodders. I throw this in because someone out there may have something interesting to add to this C. V. legend...b
