Rosemont Preserve: Deadline Extended, Matching Grant Announced
The deadline for the Arroyos Foothills Conservancy is May 31. The Altadena land trust hopes to raise $20,000 before this date with a matching grant program.
Time is running out for the Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy.
The organization has until May 31 to come up with remaining funds for the Rosemont Preserve.
The Rosemont Preserve, a 7.2-acre space above Rosemont Avenue at the mouth of Goss Canyon, will have a matching grant to help conserve the land and prevent it from future development.

The entire project costs $525,000 and the Altadena land trust, AFC, is $40,000 short of its goal.
“Three supporters have agreed to donate $20,000 to the project, if the community matches it with another $20,000,” said John Howell, AFC Executive Director.

“Once the fundraising goal is reached, AFC will acquire the land and create the Rosemont Preserve,” Howell said.
The organization urges locals to save the land for wildlife, birds and the community by raising $20,000 before May 31.
