Injured Hiker Rescued from Switzer Falls

Woman extracted with help from Angeles National Forest crew.

A hiker was rescued Saturday afternoon after receiving a leg injury near Switzer Falls.

The hiker reportedly broke her ankle about a mile below the falls area, according to the .

Officials first received the call around 5:21 p.m. Saturday. The Montrose Search and Rescue Team was dispatched to intercept the hiker.

According to scanner reports, around 5:50 p.m. the 30-year-old female hiker was reached by Angeles National Forest crews, who ascertained the nature of her injuries.

The hiker was taken from the falls area, but officials from the Crescenta Valley Station did not readily know how the woman was helped out.
