See highlights and interviews of Crescenta Valley's 5-4 championship loss to Quartz Hill.
Crescenta Valley Little League's Williamsport dreams ended in the Section 2 championship Wednesday night at El Dorado Little League. Crescenta Valley (5-2) lost a 5-4 heartbreaker to Quartz Hill.
Quartz Hill jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first and extended it to 3-0 in the third, but Crescenta Valley showed great heart.
They came back in the top of the fifth with four runs to take a 4-3 lead. Jaimy Blank blasted a solo home run, his second in two days. Brian Erickson belted a three-run homer to right field scoring Kurt McNevin and Justin Parrott.

Once again, Crescenta fought until the bitter end. Jett Costibolo, who hit a mammoth home run on Tuesday, ripped a shot to right field, but it fell just one foot short of the fence. The next batter, Blank, took one for the team and pinch runner Lorenzo Respicio stole second advancing into scoring position.
But Crescenta Valley couldn't knock in the game-tying run.
"We did everything good, but we just came up short," said Harrison Woo.
