South Pasadena (3-4) managed to compete in doubles play, with their only two wins coming from partners Brianne Loo and Mei Chung. Both won their matches against opponent pairs Amanda Lockwood and Sydney Farzadski in a 6-4 match, while later defeating partners Christine Garapetian and Sarah Oh 7-5 with a 7-6 tiebreaker.

“Crescenta Valley is a very solid team, and we respect that,” Tigers head coach Ron Mazuca said.

“We just didn’t compete today," Mazuca said. "Our doubles played strong and fought hard, but we were lacking a lot of things. We can play better than this, but nothing that we pulled off could have gotten us the win.”

For the Falcons, this is their third match in four days, with the final of the week happening against Burroughs Thursday. The Tigers also continue play Thursday in a non-league match against Arroyo.
