Learn about the history of the Mt. Lowe Railway with Dan Abendschein, editor of the Altadena Patch, who is the docent for the hike hosted by the Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy.
Patch Hiking Club participants are invited to join the hike, which is open to all members of the public. The hike is about a mile each way, and is demanding at points. Meet at the intersection of Pleasantridge Drive and Rubio Vista Drive in Altadena.
Hikers are recommended to wear hiking boots, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, a hat and water in a day pack or holster to keep your hands free. Rattlesnakes, tics and poison oak could be along the trail.

Dogs are not allowed because some sections of the trails are narrow. All hikers will be required to sign a waiver at the trailhead.
