Annual Golf Classic Monday at La Cañada Flintridge Country Club

Golf fans in Montrose and La Crescenta are encouraged to register for the 28th Annual Golf Classic presented by the Desi Geestman Foundation and the Crescenta Valley Sheriff Support Group Monday at the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club.

Per a press release announcing the event, the cost to particiate is $200 and the fee includes green fees, cart, lunch, dinner, awards, and tee prizes among other things.

Tee and green sponsorships also are available for $150. Those interested can register at www.cvssg.com.

The Desi Geestman Foundation it is an organization that helps children cope with cancer. As families try to deal with a sick child, possibly transporting the child a long distance to the City of Hope, take care of their other children and maintaining employment, their lives are turned upside down. Volunteer members of the foundation will throw birthday parties for the children, provide phone cards so they can call their parents, gas cards and food certificates for the parents when they visit their child and many other items that help the entire family during the period of treatment.

This foundation takes care of the people that don’t qualify for state assistance but are struggling financially due to the child’s illness. The foundation wants the parents the child to focus on recovery.

The Sheriff Support Group is also non-profit organization that is run by volunteer members of the community and money raised is used to support the Crescenta Valley Sheriff Station and its Deputies. The funds raised help purchase specialized equipment and other programs necessary to operations at the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station.
