Verdugo Hills Hospital and USC Sign Affiliation Agreement

The affiliation between the two is awaiting final approval by the California Attorney General.

Verdugo Hills Hospital and the University of Southern California have signed an affiliation agreement in an effort to better serve the residents of foothills communities, the hospital announced in a statement Tuesday.

“This affiliation will expand new clinical services at Verdugo Hills Hospital, as well as provide additional resources to grow and renovate existing services and ultimately preserve Verdugo as the healthcare facility of choice for the Foothill communities,” said Len LaBella, chief executive officer and president of Verdugo Hills Hospital, in the statement.

The affiliation’s finalization is subject to approval by the California Attorney General.

“We’re delighted to partner with Verdugo Hills Hospital to provide high quality health care services to the Foothills communities,” said Tom Jackiewicz, senior vice president and chief executive officer of USC Health, which oversees the Keck Medical Center of USC. “Verdugo Hills Hospital’s long history of delivering excellent services will be complemented by USC’s renowned specialty services in medical fields including orthopaedic surgery, cancer, cardiovascular, neurology and neurosurgery, and many more.”

The Keck Medical Center of USC is comprised of Keck Hospital of USC (formerly USC University Hospital) and USC Norris Cancer Hospital, the private hospitals of the University of Southern California.
