Putt, Drive and Swing for Student Scholarships

Five high school students will receive scholarships from the Montrose Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce.

Five local high school students will be honored with $500 scholarships for college tomorrow May 19 during the Montrose Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce’s 15th Annual Par 3 Masters Fundraiser at the Verdugo Hills Golf Course.

Savannah Rhoads, Brett Cruz, Leah Iverson, Kate Redmond and Helene Cook are the lucky recipients. They are all seniors at and were chosen because of their outstanding involvement in the community and volunteer efforts.

“We wanted to find students who wanted to come back after college and who have been supporting the community since they were young,” said Melinda Clarke of the MVCCC. The students were selected out of 27 applicants.
