Children etched their dreams on seed tissue paper, placed them on balloons and released them to the air above Montrose in a celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Parents and kids dressed in red, white and blue honored the civil rights leader under the sun on Friday, Jan. 13, at a special assembly at Students read poems about MLK in front of the entire school.
The parent teacher association had permission from Glendale city officials to release the 100 percent biodegradable latex balloons, which had the first through sixth graders' dreams written on seed tissue paper.
on Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta donated a portion of the balloons.
