According to the preliminary investigation, the boy was riding his bicycle west on the south sidewalk of Riverdale Drive without a helmet "when he entered the intersection at Columbus without yielding," Lorenz said.
"At that very moment, the private school bus, operated by First Student, entered the intersection traveling north when the collision occurred," Lorenz said. "At the time of the collision, there were no children on the bus. There was no indication of impairment on the part of the driver."
