La Crescenta Schools Have the Highest Graduation Rates in the GUSD

State Superintendent Tom Torlakson announced California schools' graduation and dropout rates this week.

La Crescenta schools had the lowest dropout rates in the Glendale Unified School District, according to graduation and dropout rate reports released by the California Department of Education this week.

The data follows students during a four-year period.

Clark Magnet High School had a graduation rate of 98.8 percent and dropout rate of 1.2 percent. Crescenta Valley High School had a graduation rate of 95.3 percent and a dropout rate of 3.2 percent.

"Clark's graduation rate reflects the high value our students, patents, and staff place on education," Principal Doug Dall told Patch via email.

The Glendale Unified School District as a whole had a graduation rate of 88.1 percent and a dropout rate of 6.3 percent. Meanwhile, the state had a 13.2 percent dropout rate and the Los Angeles Unified School District had a 20.3 percent dropout rate.
