What Caused Tuesday's Power Outage in Montrose-La Crescenta?

Glendale Water & Power are still investigating what happened to cause the outages for about 5,600 customers.

An undetermined cause in an underground portion in the northern Glendale area caused the , officials said. 

The outage was reported at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday for about 5,600 customers in the north Glendale area, said Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz via email.

"At 4:27 p.m., load was restored to 3600 customers. The problem area was isolated and all service was restored at approximately 5:30 p.m. The service to the remaining 2,000 customers was restored by transferring the service to another circuit. The cause of the problem will be determined once the crews complete their inspection of the underground area. The outage is not weather related. At the time of the outage, Glendale’s load was approximately 240 MW which is below its peak of 343 MW."
