Update: CV Dog Park Completion Slated for August

Construction began in November at the Crescenta Valley Dog Park - Los Angeles County's first off leash dog park - and was originally expected for completion in April 2012.

Dog-lovers can expect the Crescenta Valley Dog Park to open in August 2012, according to county officials in a Crescenta Valley Town Council meeting on Thursday.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved funding for a Crescenta Valley Dog Park in July 2011.

The estimated date for opening was previously April 2012 after safety measures stalled the construction date in August 2011.

"I am really looking forward to the dog park," CV Town Council President Cheryl Davis told Patch. "Since they started on Nov. 28, I go every Saturday to take a picture.

The dog park will be located in the northwest section of Crescenta Valley Park, with decomposed granite and wood chip surfacing. It will also feature two entryways leading to separate areas for small and large dogs. There will also be drinking fountains and water faucets for thirsty pooches.

All features will be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Other reported features include a 6-foot-high chain link fence, benches and shade coverings.

“I know there’s going to be a hose-off area; in case your dog is going to get dirty, you can hose them off before you get in the car,” Davis told Patch in September.

"The dog park is very important to local dog owners as it's a place to exercise and socialize their dogs, as well as socialize with other owners," Davis said.

Thank you so much. I definitely should not have been wearing it... it has been loose for a coupleRead More of years now. I'm hoping that it is on my property otherwise I am at the grace of good honest people... Thank you for your suggestions and I have filed a lost property report and I will definitely call the local pawn shops. Keeping it in perspective and at the end of the day it is just an object, but I'm definitely hoping that it finds its way back.

I can well empathsize with your loss. First thing, can you remember taking it off anywhere? DidRead More you wash your hands anywhere, soap makes fingers slippery. Did it fit well or was it a little loose? Running makes the arms swing. Strange as it may seem, it may still be in or on your own property. There are still honest people, call the desk of every business you went to. Also, call every pawn shop in your area and report. Good luck. If its any comfort, I found a diamond studded tie tack when I gazed at the soil in my garden and saw it. Keep us posted. b
