Starbucks Approved for Montrose

Glendale Planning Hearing Officer Laura Stotler approved the parking reduction permit, stating that there is sufficient parking in Montrose.

Starbucks could be headed to Montrose now that Glendale planning officials approved a parking permit reduction. 

The coffee chain's proposed location at 2284 Honolulu Ave., across the street from , was approved, according to a Feb. 1 letter from Glendale Planning Hearing Officer Laura Stotler. 

A parking reduction permit allows Starbucks to not provide the 14 parking spaces required for a fast-food location.

There are five parking spaces located behind the planned Starbucks, according to the project proposal. Starbucks also wants to create an outdoor patio, which will be a 354 square-foot seating area and will reduce the floor area of the 2,122 square-foot location to 1,768 square feet. There would be 23 seats inside and 13 seats outside.
