Running the Foothills Kicks Off for a Cause

The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce is hosting a 5K run and walk for all ages at Two Strike Park to support the Crescenta Valley Drug & Alcohol Prevention Coalition.

Three separate races are held, including a free kids' fun run at 7:55 a.m., run at 8 a.m. and walk at 8:05 a.m. The organizers also offer a warm up before racing.

“We have a and it gives everybody warmed up and energetic. It’s a very positive thing,” said Julia Rabago, Montrose resident and chamber of commerce executive director.

So far, about 70 people have signed up, Rabago said.

Many people sign up the day of the race, but Rabago recommends signing up early and said the chamber expects about 100 people to support the event.

To enter the race, visit lacrescenta.org or call (818) 248-4957. The entry fee for the run and walk are $20 and includes a t-shirt. Kids' fun run is free and t-shirts are $10.
