Reward Extended for Information About Fatal Hit and Run

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors renewed a $10,000 reward for information leading to whomever struck and killed 49-year-old La Crescenta resident Joo Lee.

The family of Joo Lee, who ran a pool cleaning business in the Crescenta Valley, wants to know who struck and killed him on New Year's Day in 2010.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors renewed a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the person who killed Lee, .

Lee was crossing the 3000 block of Montrose Avenue, near Ramsdell Avenue, about 7:15 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2010, when he was hit by a vehicle, possibly an SUV, and thrown about 70 feet, according to City News Service.

Lee died the next morning at Huntington Memorial Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Kyong, and two daughters, Amy and Suzie. He and his family lived in the Montrose-La Crescenta are for more than 12 years.

The reward was recommended by and was set to expire Oct. 4, but now the money will be available for another 90 days.
