opened its doors to the masses this weekend, giving future space explorers and enthusiasts of all ages a glimpse at some of the research and projects the NASA lab has been working on. 

The free event included booths and demonstrations, including an up-close look at some of the tools used on Mars. How close? Let's just say some lucky kids got to feel what its like to be a Martian rock.

The annual open house will continue through today, Sunday May 15th, at 5:00 p.m.
