Montrose Art Walk Coming May 18

Hundred of art pieces and demonstrations by artists will be on hand.

Nearly two dozen artists from the area will descend on Honolulu Avenue Next week for the upcoming Montrose, Verdugo-City Art Walk.

Artists from the foothills and neighboring cities, and one artist from Arizona, will showcase their talents and offer a wide variety of art, ranging from water color, oil, acrylic, wood, ceramics, photography and glass work.

The Art Walk will be entering its ninth year.

Some of the artists on hand will demonstrate how they create their work, said Jennifer Swain, from Digital Orange Graphics in Glendale.

"We encourage all our artists to demo. Even our wood cutting artist has his machine to show his technique. Also, we have mini classes for kids to create art," Swain said.

The Art Walk is free for patrons. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the 2300 and 2400 blocks of Honolulu Avenue.

The Art Walk is run by the Montrose Verdugo-City Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds go to benefit the variety of events and businesses of Montrose.
