Local Students Receive CV Town Council Scholarships

Allied Waste, SoCal Recycling, Dick and Lucille Seeley and the 3900 Block of El Caminito contributed to the scholarships for six local high school seniors.

Crescenta Valley Town Council recognized six local students Thursday night its monthly meeting at . 

Students were chosen by application and interviewed by council members. They were honored not only by the council, but also by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich. 

Scholarship recipients included: 

  • Elyse Nichole Gould, Vocational/Trade School Scholarship. Gould will attend Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising where she will major in Fashion Design. 
  • Molly Shelton, Community Service Scholarship. Shelton will attend Allegheny College in Pennsylvania to study Astrophysics. 
  • Ellen Kim, Post Secondary Goals Scholarship. Kim will attend Smith College in Massachusets to major in Government. 
  • Benjamin Marchman, Post Secondary Goals Scholarship. Marchman will attend UC Davis and study International Relations. 
  • Xochitl Clare, Academic Achievement Award. Clare plans to major in Marine Biology and minor in Theatre at UC Santa Cruz. 
  • Clare McCreary, Academic Achievement and the Lucille C. Seely Scholarship. McCreary will attend UCLA and study Pre-business Economics. 

Allied Waste, SoCal Recycling, Dick and Lucille Seeley and the 3900 Block of El Caminito contributed to the scholarships for the seniors. 

Each student had a chance to speak about where they were headed next. Clare McCreary also thanked the council. 

“Thank you so much to the Crescenta Valley Town Council. We live in a really great community,” McCreary said.
