Kim Kardashian Explains the Glendale Draw

The reality mogul let her representative tell US Weekly that Kim Kardashian is looking for ways to better serve the local Armenian community.

Kim Kardashian announced on E's Kardashian reality show, Khloe and Lamar, that she'd like to run for mayor of Glendale in about five years. After she establishes residency. 

"Kim has always looked for opportunities to grow and also do what she can to help support the Armenian community," her rep said in a statement to Us Weekly, according to Huffington Post. "She's learning more about the ways in which she can help to do her part to make a difference in the community."

Councilman Ara Najarian, suggested Kardashian take the role of “honorary chief of staff” and learn about Glendale, including funding for public services to business and residential topics, according to the Glendale News-Press

Najarian also invited Kardashian to the upcoming . 

“I think she would make an excellent mayor," Glendale City Councilman Rafi Manoukian told E! News, the News-Press reported.

Ardy Kassakhian, Glendale City Clerk, has not been contacted by Kardashian or any represenatatives, but he said she is welcome to run for city council, the News-Press reported. 

Kardashian also needs only one year of residency before she can run for council, the News-Press reported. That could make her campaign as early as 2013 or 2015.
