Glendale Votes Frank Quintero As Interim Council Member
Decision leaves a few in the community scratching their heads.
He left his position less than two weeks ago, but a former council member will be right back in the thick of things, at least on an interim basis.
The Glendale City Council voted on Tuesday to have Frank Quintero fill the seat vacated by Rafi Manoukian, who left that position mid-term to govern as city treasurer. Current council members favored Quintero, citing his fresh knowledge of city politics, especially when budget discussions are fast approaching.
Several other former mayors were considered along with Quintero, but declined the offer, according to the Crescenta Valley Weekly.
A few in the public questioned the decision, including Chahe Kueroghelian, who ran for city council member last election, but lost.
