Glendale Introduces Chief Information Officer

Department head chosen after exhaustive search, officials said.

The Glendale City Council introduced the newly-appointed Chief Information Officer at the April 30 council meeting.

Brian Ganley was chosen after an "exhaustive" search for a replacement as head of the Information Services Department after the departure of director Ed Fraga. Ganley will oversee three divisions of the Information Services Department, officials said.

Ganley begins his tenure May 20.

Ganley was formerly the information technology manager for West Hollywood.

His name might sound familiar to some as Ganley was the runner up for the same position with the Information Services Department in 2009 when Fraga was appointed, officials said.

Ganley "has the technical knowledge, interpersonal and leadership skills, and well-rounded managerial experience to lead ISD into the future," said Scott Ochoa, city manager.

"It is truly an honor to serve the city. I'm very excited to become part of the team and continue moving forward with technology," Ganley said at the council meeting.

Ganley has a Bachelor of Science in Business administration from the University of Southern California and a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Northridge.
