'Space 134' Project Earns Glendale City Council's Backing

The project aims to cap part of the 134 Freeway for park space.

The 'Space 134' project that proposes capping part of the 134 Freeway to accommodate park space and several other amenities secured the backing of the Glendale City Council at its meeting earlier this week, according to a story in the Glendale News-Press.

Space 134's target area stretches from Central to Glendale avenues, and will include bike paths, trails, exercise equipment and an electrical car charging station, among other things.

“It’s certainly worth pursuing without question,” said Mayor Frank Quintero in the Glendale News-Press story. “I’m happy we’ve taken it to this level and hopefully we can continue it.”
