Foothill Residents Will Have Critical Water Conservation in February

Crescenta Valley Water District will be in a Red or Critical Water Alert condition during the shutdown period to ensure ample local supplies for indoor water use and emergencies.

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California in conjunction with Foothill Municipal Water District will have a shutdown of its imported water to Crescenta Valley Water District and other local agencies from Feb. 21 to Feb. 28.

"The District does not anticipate any water supply problems during the shutdown due to current demand, local ground water capacity and the District’s emergency connection with Glendale Water and Power," according to a news release.

CVWD along with the other Foothill water agencies in the La Crescenta, La Canada, and Altadena areas will be in a Red or Critical Water Alert condition during the shutdown period to ensure ample local supplies for indoor water use and emergencies.

No outdoor irrigation will be permitted during that time period and residents are encouraged to conserve indoor water use.

Authorities announced that residents should refrain from hand-washing vehicles, filling swimming pools or spas.

CVWD will be working with Caltrans, schools, and the local parks to turn off their irrigation systems during this period.

The District will use the Nixle network system to update the Community on any water supply conditions.

MWD will also have water tips and updates at www.bewaterwise.com.

Thank you so much. I definitely should not have been wearing it... it has been loose for a coupleRead More of years now. I'm hoping that it is on my property otherwise I am at the grace of good honest people... Thank you for your suggestions and I have filed a lost property report and I will definitely call the local pawn shops. Keeping it in perspective and at the end of the day it is just an object, but I'm definitely hoping that it finds its way back.

I can well empathsize with your loss. First thing, can you remember taking it off anywhere? DidRead More you wash your hands anywhere, soap makes fingers slippery. Did it fit well or was it a little loose? Running makes the arms swing. Strange as it may seem, it may still be in or on your own property. There are still honest people, call the desk of every business you went to. Also, call every pawn shop in your area and report. Good luck. If its any comfort, I found a diamond studded tie tack when I gazed at the soil in my garden and saw it. Keep us posted. b
