Construction Begins at LA County's First Off-Leash Dog Park

"I am really looking forward to the dog park," Davis told Patch. "Since they started on Nov. 28, I go every Saturday to take a picture.

The dog park will be located in the northwest section of Crescenta Valley Park, with decomposed granite and wood chip surfacing. It will also feature two entryways leading to separate areas for small and large dogs. There will also be drinking fountains and water faucets for thirsty pooches.

All features will be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Other reported features include a 6-foot-high chain link fence, benches and shade coverings.

“I know there’s going to be a hose-off area; in case your dog is going to get dirty, you can hose them off before you get in the car,” Davis told Patch in September.

"The dog park is very important to local dog owners as it's a place to exercise and socialize their dogs, as well as socialize with other owners," Davis said.
