Comments Continue To Haunt Glendale Council Member

"Hateful" comments reportedly made by Zareh Sinanyan were addressed during his first city council meeting.

Although deleted from cyberspace, comments reportedly made by new council member Zareh Sinanyan could not be deleted from the minds of some, including a few speakers at the last city meeting.

The most notable was the woman behind Meatball, the Glendale Bear's Twitter account. Sarah Aujero spoke at the April 16 Glendale City Council meeting and said she was disgusted by Sinanyan's comments and chided him for not addressing them further, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“If anyone is accused of something this heinous they would work tirelessly to clear their good name or give a clear denial, or if they had done it, had the courage to own up to the actions or provide an apology.”

Last month, Sinanyan made waves when he allegedly made comments on YouTube, Facebook and other websites, comments considered by some to be hateful and threatening against Armenia's geopolitical enemies, the gay community, Muslims and women.

Sinanyan reportedly has not denied making the comments and will not confirm if they are, in fact, his.

The comments were deleted from Youtube, but were connected to an account that listed the council member's full name, the Times reported.
