The Board of Supervisors today approved a plan to build a $800,000 skate park in unincorporated La Crescenta.
The funding to build the 10,000-square-foot park in Crescenta Valley Community Regional Park comes from a utility tax. The park is expected to cost about $79,000 annually to staff and maintain.
The Department of Parks and Recreation has worked with local skateboarders in planning the park, set to include bleachers for spectators.
The board's vote today authorized hiring a design consultant.
