The Board of Supervisors today approved a plan to build a $800,000 skate park in unincorporated La Crescenta.

The funding to build the 10,000-square-foot park in Crescenta Valley Community Regional Park comes from a utility tax. The park is expected to cost about $79,000 annually to staff and maintain.

The Department of Parks and Recreation has worked with local skateboarders in planning the park, set to include bleachers for spectators.
