Angeles Forest Highway Reopens Friday, Closes Again Monday

Plan ahead: You'll need to find an alternate route as unforeseen circumstances have elongated the construction project, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.

There's good news and bad news for your commute through the Angeles National Forest in the upcoming days. 

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works will reopen Angeles Forest Highway between Aliso Canyon Road and Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road to through traffic beginning at 5 p.m. Friday. But, the project is taking longer than officials believed.

So the highway, between those same roads, will be closed to through traffic on Monday, June 11, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The but was delayed for one day due to "unforeseen circumstances,'' according to a Public Works press release.

The work, approved by the U.S. Forest Service, is located about three miles north of Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road.
