76 Gas Station Owner Owes $520K in Taxes

The abandoned gas station on Foothill Boulevard, near Briggs Avenue, hasn't paid $520,257 in taxes, according to the California State Board of Equalization.

The owner and operator of Union 76 Gas Station in La Canada Flintridge apparently owes the California State Board of Equalization $520,257 in unpaid taxes, the La Canada Valley Sun reports.

The location at 2384 Foothill Boulevard remains closed, with only caution tape parked next to the pumps.

La Canada Enterprises, which owns and operates the location, has suspended status from the California Secretary of State's office.

The owner, Samira Shirza, is now listed as the owner of Pacific Continental Link Inc at 16027 Dickens St., Encino, according to The Valley Sun.

Pacific Continental Link Inc is also at suspended status under the owner, Samira Shirza, according to the California Secretary of State

The gas station is set to open under a new owner, but the new owner and date of re-opening are not immediately available.

La Canada Enterprises will continue to owe the State Board of Equalization unpaid taxes, although there is no deadline to pay up, a spokeswoman from the State Board of Equalization told Patch. The agency puts the information out to encourage people to come forward and begin a payback agreement.

The gas station closure means that locals are turning to other locations for gas, including nearby , ,  and  in Montrose-La Crescenta.
