7 Street Lights Could Be Installed Near Rosemont Middle School

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors could approve a Department of Public Works project to bring seven new street lights, including six in front of Rosemont Middle School and another at Raymond Avenue, to La Crescenta.

La Crescenta could have seven new county-funded street lights near , including six along Rosemont Avenue and another at Raymond Avenue, behind the school. 

Lights would be added to both new and existing poles, according to the meeting agenda

"There would be no cost for the installation of the seven street lights on new and existing wood poles," according to the engineer's report.

The new lights could have an annual cost of $1,045 for the seven 9,500 lumen high-pressure sodium vapor street lights, according to the report.

Nearby property owners within the boundaries of Petition No. 82-808 (see the attached map) would pay for electricity and maintenance costs at an annual assessment at $5 per parcel, according to the report. The boundaries include homes near Rosemont Middle School.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will discuss the possible project and could approve and file the engineer's reports during the board meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 9:30 a.m. in board hearing room 381B at Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, 500 West Temple Street, Los Angeles. 

A public hearing is set for Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 9:30 a.m. regarding the proposed annexation and levy of annual assessments for street lighting purposes, with an annual base assessment rate of $5 for a single-family residence within the Unincorporated Zone of County Lighting District, officials said.
