UPDATE: The U.S. Geological Survey today downgraded the magnitude 4.3 earthquake rocked the foothills Thursday to a magnitude 4.2 earthquake.
Two tremors followed shortly after the shaking began four miles from Newhall at 1:47 p.m. Thursday, with a 2.0 magnitude quake north of San Fernando at 1:50 p.m. Thursday and 2.3 magnitude quake in the same area at 1:53 p.m. Thursday, according to the USGS.
At least 19 people in the Santa Clarita area said they felt the earthquake, according to the agency.
A sheriff's deputy at the said no residents had reported any damage or injury from the earthquake.
