UPDATE: Man Injured in Monkey Canyon Fall (Video)

Sheriff's Air-5 rescued a 21-year-old Burbank man in Monkey Canyon Saturday afternoon.

UPDATE: A 21-year-old Burbank man was hospitalized in stable condition after he fell to the bottom of , according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

U.S. Forestry personnel alerted deputies at the that a hiker found the young victim unconscious and bleeding from the ears at 1:53 p.m. on Saturday, according to the report.

Sheriff's Air-5 airlifted the victim from the canyon. According to an LASD press release, the crew found the victim lying in shallow water five miles from Angeles Crest Highway.

The Sheriff's Emergency Services Detail lowerered two paramedics 150 feet to rescue the man, who had multiple injuries and head trauma, authorities said.

The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau featured a YouTube video from the Air-5 rescue helmet cam.

This was not the only Monkey Canyon rescue in recent weeks. Several weeks ago .
