Two Local Men Allegedly Flash Laser at Police Helicopter
Glendale Police Department arrested two men on suspicion of discharging a laser at an aircraft.
Two area men were arrested on suspicion of discharging a red laser at a Glendale Police Department helicopter on Friday, according to the Glendale News-Press.
Dylan Chavez, 18, of La Crescenta and Jason Phillips, 20, of Glendale, were arrested about 9:30 p.m. Friday, the News-Press reported.
The aircrew apparently saw the laser three times, and each flash lasted three to four seconds behind the helicopter's flight pattern, officials said. An infrared camera discovered a backyard where one of the men allegedly hid behind a boat.

Police arrived at a La Crescenta home in the 3200 block of Prospect Avenue, near Pennsylvania Avenue, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz told Patch.
Chavez allegedly told police on the ground that he played video games with Phillips and denied pointing a laser, police said. He allowed officers to search his home, and officers apparently found a cup of pencils and a pen that doubled as a red laser.
