Two Homes a Block Apart Broken into Thursday Night

The two homes are about a block apart in La Crescenta and may have be broken into around the same time overnight Thursday.

Two homes about a block apart from each other were broken into at some point Thursday night or early Friday morning, according to information from Lt. Angela Shepherd of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

One break-in was reported at 2800 Community Avenue some time between 5:30 p.m. Thursday and 12:15 a.m. Friday and the other was around 1 a.m. Friday about a block south on 2800 Prospect Avenue, according to Shepherd.

The Community Avenue home had its kitchen window broken with a brick.  The burglar "ransacked" the bedroom, according to Shepherd, but the home owners are not yet sure exactly what, if anything, was taken.

The Prospect Avenue home was entered via an unlocked window into the bedroom, Shepherd said.   Miscellaneous jewelry was stolen from the home.
