Sheriff's Department Boosts Crime-Tracking With Online Mapping System
Sheriff's Department makes tracking crime even easier for residents.
Are you a neighborhood watchdog? Crescenta Valley residents can now get a better visual picture of the crime happening in their neighborhood. The has recently adopted CrimeMapping.com, a service that tracks crimes for all of the cities and communities under the Sheriff's Department's watch, as well as other law enforcement agencies. The Glendale Police Department has been using CrimeMapping.com for quite some time.
Previously, the Sheriff's Department had listed crime data on another website, making it sometimes difficult for residents to track crime in their neighborhood.
The customizable map service allows users to enter an address and look at all crime nearby the area with a radius ranging from 500 feet to 2 miles. Users can sort the incidents by date, look at different types of crime and create customized reports from the service.
