Sheriff's Officials Investigate Apparent Suicide Along Angeles Crest
A man was found inside his car near mile marker 26, according to coroner's officials. Preliminary reports indicate that he shot himself.
UPDATE 5:20 p.m.: An unidentified man found sitting in a vehicle appears to have a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head, Capt. John Kades of the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner told the Glendale News-Press.
His body was discovered near mile marker 26, above the Angeles National Forest snow gate, The News-Press reported.
3:48 p.m.: The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department's homicide division is investigating a matter termed "confidential'' and ''sensitive,'' Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station Lt. Angela Shepherd said Monday.

"We're handling it and homicide's handling it, but I can't release any information,'' Shepherd said, declining to even say the location of the incident.
A source who asked not to identified told Patch the incident occurred at Angeles Crest Highway at Mile Marker 26.
