Sheriff's Barley Flats Airbase Renovations Complete (Video)

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Air 5 Rescue program raised enough funds and donations from the public to complete a renovation of the Barley Flats helicopter base.

A group was formed to repair the location following the 2009 Station Fire, Sheriff's Reserve Chief Mike Leum said.  

During the renovations, sheriff's officials gutted the interior, Leum said. Now, the location has a full kitchen, extra installation, washer and dryer, storage space and secured steps leading to helipad.

"Thanks to those who have contributed time, materials and funds, the crew is using the newly renovated facility daily," Leum said.
