About 2,000 Glendale Water & Power customers are without power.

A Ryder rental truck without a driver slammed into a power pole and knocked out power for about 2,000 customers, according to media reports.

The unoccupied truck rolled down Dunsmore Avenue, struck a power pole at Los Amigos Street and downed live electrical wires about 4 p.m., Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz told The Glendale News-Press.

Glendale firefighters put out a small fire near the crash, The News-Pres reported. No one was injured.

I feel bad that teachers are having to pull money out of their own pockets, I wonder whateverRead More happened to the lottery money that was supposed to go to schools? I am a volunteer for an organization that offers free drug education kits to any teacher with booklets on the various harmful drugs . Educators play a vital role for our children and in society and should be supported in any way possible. Any who might be interested, e-mail me at tbadger2000@yahoo.com.
