UPDATE: Rash of Restaurant Break-ins Included Leo's, Sun Palace and Blue Moon

On Tuesday, three restaurants and bars were broken into throughout Montrose and La Crescenta.

UPDATE: The three establishments that were broken into were (at 2941 Honolulu Ave.), (at 3719 N. Verdugo Rd.), and possibly Blue Moon (305 N. Verdugo Rd.).

Tom Lorenz of the Glendale Police Department reported that a suspect entered the back door using "a pry tool to force entry. Upon entry the suspect forcibly removed the ringing siren from the rear corner of the bar. He then worked his way toward the office. He again pried the office door and gained entry to the office." Loss from Leo's is unknown. The break-in occured around 2 a.m.

At Sun Palace, Lorenz reported "an unknown suspect(s) gained entry by unknown means. Suspect(s)carried cash registers to kitchen and forced them open to remove currency. Suspect(s) forced open an upstairs office (unknown loss) and dumped a box in order to carry out bottles of high-end liquor." This also occurred around 2 a.m.

Though Blue Moon was not broken into, there appears to be "recent pry damage to an upper rear door."

Previously: The Glendale Police Department reports that at least three bars and restaurants in Montrose and La Crescenta were broken into on Tuesday, prompting police to issue an All Points Bulletin alerting the community.

The APB stated: "If you live or work near a bar or restaurant anywhere in Glendale, please be aware of these after-hour occurrences. If you see anything suspicious, be a good witness and call the police immediately. If you are the proprietor of a bar and/or restaurant, please be sure that any alarm or camera systems are in good working order, have adequate lighting around all doors, and remove anything that can provide concealment for a burglar.  Make sure all doors and windows are secured with quality locks, and report any break-in (or attempt) to the police."
