Police Search for Woman in Bank Scam

A woman allegedly stole more than $14,000 from banks throughout Southern California.

Glendale police are asking the public’s help to identify a woman who police say withdrew money from an Altadena woman’s bank account from branches in Glendale, Pasadena and Arcadia in September, according to the Glendale News-Press.

“She may have also attempted to obtain a credit line from the Target store in Glendale using the victim’s information,” according to Glendale Police Department.

The suspect attempted to withdraw $4,400 from the Wells Fargo Bank located inside a Fullerton Ralph’s grocery store but was denied the transaction, police said. She then tried a Wells Fargo in Placentia, but the branch was notified by Fullerton and denied the transaction as well. However, the suspect went to a branch in Camarillo and completed a cash withdrawal with the victim’s account.
