A 15-year-old boy led Los Angeles Police Department officers on a chase from Sunland, through Montrose, La Crescenta and ended in Atwater Village.
A 15-year-old boy suspected of driving a stolen car was in custody after allegedly leading police on a chase from Sunland to Atwater Village.
Officers spotted a white Honda Civic on Foothill Boulevard near Oro Vista Avenue in Sunland around 10:50 p.m. Monday and checked the car's plates because the driver looked suspicious, said Lt. Brian Bixler, watch commander at the Los Angeles Police Department's Foothill Station.
When they found out the car had been reported stolen, they followed the suspect until they had additional units, including a helicopter, in place and tried to pull him over in the area of Tujunga Canyon Boulevard and the Foothill (210) Freeway, Bixler said.

The youth, who surrendered after the crash, will be booked for felony evading and driving a stolen vehicle, Bixler said.
