Police Arrest Tennis Coach Who Allegedly Molested Child

Glendale Police arrested a tennis coach at Scholl Canyon Tennis Center on suspicion of molesting a 15-year-old girl, officials said. 

Dale Kim, 46, of Los Angeles was arrested Tuesday, according to a news release from Glendale Police Department.  

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed 10 counts of lewd acts on a child, seven counts of oral copulation with a minor, and four counts of rape of a minor, authorities said. 

Detectives reported that several alleged acts happened after tennis practice, located at the Scholl Canyon Tennis Center in Glendale. Kim apparently rents the tennis courts from the center to conduct private lessons, police said.

He is not affiliated with Scholl Canyon Tennis Center or the City of Glendale, officials said. 

Further acts of intercourse were in a motel room in the Tujunga area of Los Angeles, police said. 

Kim has been a tennis coach for more than 10 years. Glendale Police detectives are interested in identifying any other individuals who may have been victims or may have additional information for the ongoing investigation. 

His bail was set at $875,000 and he appeared in Glendale Superior Court Wednesday. His next court date is Oct. 15 at Burbank Municipal Court, 300 E. Olive Ave., Burbank.
