PHOTOS: Sheriff's Deputies Break Up Occupy L.A. Protest in LCF

Deputies from the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station broke up the assembly in less than half an hour, according to a resident.

Occupy Los Angeles brought their case to La Cañada Flintridge on Friday, when a busload of sign-toting protesters assembled on Commonwealth Avenue.

A resident, who asked not to be identified, said the 3 p.m. protest, just south of Berkshire Avenue, lasted roughly 20 minutes before deputies from the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station broke it up. An email sent to Capt. Dave Silversparre late Friday afternoon was not immediately returned.

According to the Occupy Los Angeles Facebook page, the group describes its stance as "We are in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street and the other occupations across the nation and the world. We are the 99% that demand a world that works through democracy, not corporatocracy. We deserve a representative government, and we will not be silent.''
