The coroner's office Sunday released the name of the man killed when he got out of his crashed Toyota on the westbound Ventura (134) Freeway in Glendale and was hit by a car.

The deceased motorist was Ajene Mohr, 42, of North Hollywood, Coroner's
Investigator Kristy McCracken said. Mohr was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the westbound Ventura Freeway near Pacific Avenue just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday that left another man suffering from major injuries, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

A 2001 silver Honda CR-V, driven by a 50-year-old West Hollywood man, broke
down in the left lane, where his car was rear-ended by a 2005 Toyota Solara
driven by a the man now identified as Mohr, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said.

The Honda driver suffered major injuries and his car sustained major rear
damage. But the Solara's driver got out of his crashed car and was apparently
in the carpool lane when he was hit by a 2011 Lexus, driven by a 20-year-old
Van Nuys man, and thrown over the center divider into the eastbound HOV lane,
Kimball said.

That is when a fourth vehicle also struck the motorist now identified as
Mohr, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Kimball said. That vehicle fled
the scene and has not been located, he said.
