Montrose Woman Flips Car in Alleged DUI Crash

An 18-year-old woman allegedly lost control of her vehicle, slammed into a light pole and flipped it on Canada Boulevard.

An 18-year-old Montrose woman was held in lieu of $100,000 bail Tuesday following an alleged drunk driving crash in North Glendale, according to the Glendale News-Press.

Teri Haggar allegedly drove southbound on Canada Boulevard when she tried to pass another, slower car about 9:30 p.m. Monday in the 2900 block of Canada Boulevard, the News-Press reported.

She drove about 70 mph on a turn, cruising into the bike lane and eventually crashing into a light pole, tree and flipping the car onto the roof, according to the News-Press.

Two passengers inside the flipped car crawled out into the street while Haggar sat trapped, the News-Press reported. Firefighters rescued Haggar and she was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital.

Haggar told police that she and her friends were drinking alcohol earlier Monday and allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana and having alcohol in the car at the time of the accident, the News-Press reported.
