Montrose SAR Hosts Snow Re-Certification
Eighteen California search and rescue teams earned their snow re-certifications at June Lake.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Montrose Search and Rescue Team hosted a snow re-certification at June Lake over the weekend.
Eighteen search and rescue teams from Placer to San Diego counties gathered for the re-certification event. About 350 people showed up for the event.
The idea is to train and re-certify volunteer deputies in their snow and ice skills.

This was the first time the Montrose team had hosted such an event.
Such teams are made up of volunteers who receive $1 a year.
